Find out what has been happening in school this week.
Year 6 had the next stage of their bikeability course which ran for the whole day. They put into practice all the skills they learnt on day 1- setting off, road position, signalling, turning left into and out of junctions etc, but today they also learnt new skills such as dealing with hazards on the road and turning right into a junction.
This afternoon they put everything together and the task was to set off, turn left onto a main road whilst holding position, cycle down the road, do a U turn, cycle back along the road, turn right into the junction cycle down and dismount. This was done twice, with no verbal instruction after the initial one. They did brilliantly.
Comments from the instructor showed that, once again, Year 6 have done us, and more importantly, themselves proud. Well done
Class 2 created some fantastic sea life, floral and patterned art using textures found on our playground area today. They used the fort, stone, bark, playground, stones, leaves and pretty much anything else they could find to take rubbings. The results were lovely.
Year 6 undertook the first day of their bikeability course completing level one and part of level two. They learnt how to check their bikes for roadworthiness, how the gears work and control of their bikes before venturing out onto the roads to practice checking for traffic and pulling away safely. Day two and the rest of level two will be completed on Thursday.
