Find out what has been happening in school this week.
Class 3 had an exciting science lesson today, learning about gravity. Mr Brown explained the theory of gravity and asked the question
How does a hot air balloon defy gravity?
After a full discussion, there was only one way to find out properly, so we went out to set off a hot air balloon. Ours was tethered, no chance of escape. Mr Brown battled the windy conditions, lit the lantern and away she went.
What goes up, must come down so after a small flight around the playground, the flame was put out safely and the children had the opportunity to feel how the lantern had retained some of the heat for a short while.
Class 3 have settled back into the rhythm of school life very well and we are starting on our project of Up Up and Away. The class book this term is Around the World in 80 days and we will be looking at maps, flags, countries and continents.
